November didn’t ease in quietly this year — it showed up loud, cozy, and full important moments. From live music at one of our favorite local venues to Thanksgiving traditions, this month was packed with small joys, big feelings, and lots of love.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that the best months aren’t perfectly planned — they’re layered with everyday adventures, half-finished projects, and time spent with the people who make life feel full.
Live Music at a Local Venue
November kicked off with a Shakey Graves concert at Chelsea’s, one of our favorite local spots, and a 90s Country tribute at The Texas Club. There’s something about live music in smaller venues — the energy feels personal and the show much more intimate.
These nights remind us why we love showing up for experiences instead of saving them for “someday.” No big trip required. Just good music, a cold drink, and that feeling you only get when a room is fully locked in.

Creating Thanksgiving Memories with Family (and a Very Serious Turkey Operation)
Thanksgiving marked our first holiday since my mom’s diagnosis, and we all felt the quiet pressure to make it count. Marc stepped into his role as Thanksgiving chef, complete with a fried turkey operation that felt equal parts impressive and mildly dangerous.
The food was great, but what made the day special had very little to do with what was on the table. It was the conversations happening in the kitchen, the familiar chaos, and the comfort of being together.
Thanksgiving isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up, feeding the people you love, and creating those memories together.

In between all of it, Marc and I took on a master bath renovation, making updates to improve accessibility and make things a little easier for my mom. It wasn’t glamorous, and it definitely wasn’t finished in a day, but it felt important — caring for the people you love in practical, quiet ways.

A Christmas Light Upgrade
Somewhere between leftovers and weekend plans, we tackled a small but meaningful home project — hanging holiday lights around the house.

Why November Felt Different This Year
Not every moment was exciting. Not every plan went exactly right. But November had a quiet rhythm to it. Live music. Family dinners. Small projects. Ordinary days that somehow felt important.
That’s the magic we keep coming back to. The accidental moments. The in-between days. The months you don’t expect to remember but do. And as the year starts winding down, this month felt like a gentle nudge to slow things down. To keep saying yes to experiences close to home. To keep choosing presence over perfection.
