Some celebrations deserve a little extra magic, and what better place to mark the upcoming wedding anniversary of Caitlin’s parents than the Happiest Place on Earth? This trip was fast-paced and excitement-filled, complete with a few firsts, delicious eats, and calm seas.
🌸🌿 Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival
Epcot’s festivals are always a must. The festive booths provided the perfect opportunity to sample international cuisine and beverages, and our favorites were the seafood boil and the ceviche.
🎭🐸 A Splash of Louisiana Charm: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
We experienced Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for the first time! The reimagined attraction brought the heart and soul of New Orleans straight to the Magic Kingdom. Unusual for a drop ride, every Ainsworth rode — and let’s just say some enjoyed it more than others 🤣
🏰🍦 Disney Adulting > Normal Adulting
Experiencing Disney as an adult (without kids) is still not for the faint of heart, but Marc was a trooper! Between several Dole Whips, resort hopping, an immersive lunch at Oga’s Cantina, and a few adrenaline-packed attractions, it’s safe to say we both had a great time.
🚢🌊 Setting Sail on the Disney Wish
Stepping aboard the Disney Wish felt like entering a seafaring castle, complete with themed accommodations, Disney entertainment for all ages, and exceptional service. As first-time cruisers, the Wish set the perfect precedent.
Highlights included Pirate Night (complete with glam rock and fireworks), our fantastic servers, a screening of Thunderbolts, and relaxing on the veranda with endless ocean views.
🏝☀️ Paradise at Castaway Cay
No Disney cruise is complete without a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island paradise. Despite the psychotic seagulls, the white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and excellent snorkeling made for a perfect adventure for Caitlin and Clay.
Starting the day with the Castaway Cay 5K 🏃♂️, Caitlin and Clay rope-dropped the island and were first off the ship. After grabbing our finisher medals, we headed back to meet the girls for breakfast before returning to the island for snorkeling around the artificial reefs 🪸 (peep the Nautilus!) and ice cream sandwiches from Cookies.
The Grand Floridian: Classic Elegance ✨
To cap off an already exceptional vacation celebrating two very special people, we stayed a night at The Grand Floridian after disembarking. Much to Lauren’s delight, we’ve now stayed at every resort on the monorail.
This Disney adventure was more than just a getaway — it was a celebration of love, family, and new beginnings. From thrilling first-time experiences to cherished traditions, every moment was packed with the kind of magic that makes this Disney family love spending time together.
